“Seeing The Unseen” (Part III)
Date: 9/7/2011
Speaker: Pastor Johnny Moore
Can you see victory from where you stand today? If not, chances are great that you will not experience it either. Why, you ask? Because, if you can’t see it, you can’t have it! Now, of course, I hope you understand that I am not talking about seeing with the natural eye, but instead, seeing with the heart. A person with a vision, a dream, a God-given purpose, refuses to give in to what is seen with the natural eye, because on the inside they are following a greater picture.
The Apostle Paul gives us some valuable insight into his driving force. We find by listening to him, what keeps him going when things are tough. Listen…“We consider and look not to the things that are seen, but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal, brief
and fleeting, but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting” (II Corinthians 4:18 Amplified).
Last week we began to note the results of “seeing the unseen.” Let’s continue…
Result #1: Your Faith Becomes Stagnant
Result #2: Your Growth is Stunted: When your faith becomes stagnant, your growth will become stunted. You begin saying things like “things will never change.” You begin blaming others for your unhappiness and discomfort. In your eyes, everybody else is the problem. But the truth is “When you grow, you change. If you stop changing, you’ve stopped growing.” When you choose only to see the visible, you will stunt your growth.
Result #3: Our Victory Will Be Stopped: When you choose only to see the visible, it is only a matter of time until your victory will be stopped. Several things begin to happen… You become jealous of others; eventually you will try to pull others down to your level; you will find yourself slipping away from those you love as well as from your responsibilities. Defeat has now begun to take hold on you. Make a quality decision today to “See the Unseen” and watch as your victory begins to become a reality!
