“The Presence of God”

Date: 12/7/2011
Speaker:

Jesus never had a problem drawing a crowd! People followed him everywhere he went. The amazing thing is that the people that followed him were from one extreme to another – children, adults, business men, fishermen, political people, religious people, sick people, healed people, mothers, fathers, men, women, righteous people, unrighteous people. Just think about people like: Zacheuss, Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, The Rich Young Ruler, Luke, Matthew, Peter, the woman caught in adultery, the woman at the well, the woman with the issue of blood, Judas, Simon of Cyrene, Lazurus, wisemen, shepherds. Matthew 13:1-2 says, “On that day Jesus went out of the house and was sitting by the sea and great multitudes gathered to him, so that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole multitude was standing on the beach.” The Gospel of Mark tells of a time “…when he (Jesus) had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, even near the door; and He was speaking the Word to them” (Mark 2:1-2).

People wanted to be where Jesus was! The same is still true today. People are hungry for God – though many do not realize this is what they are searching for – and when they find out that the presence of God is truly in a place, they will rip the roof off to get in if they have to. Believe it or not, the presence of God is attracting. People want to be where God is. We should come to church every week expecting to experience God. His presence is real and it makes all the difference in the world in people’s lives.

What our churches need is not another program or campaign – we need God. And if Jesus is in the house “greater things than these” are bound to happen!

Let me invite you to join us this Sunday and let’s experience the presence of God together at Family Worship Center. I know “His” presence will be there and His presence will make all the difference in your life. Bring the family and join us. Our service times are below. I’ll be saving you a seat!
