“The Touch of God” (Part I)

    There is no touch like the touch of God. His touch is the difference between life and death; hope and despair; victory and defeat.

    The Bible is full of those who experienced the touch of God upon their lives. Let’s take a look at a few…

    Jacob: (Genesis 32) He received a touch of God, and was changed from a “deceiver” to a “prince.”

    Isaiah: (Isaiah 6:7-8) He received a touch of God upon his lips causing his iniquity to be taken away and his sin to be purged.

    Jeremiah: (Jeremiah 1:9) When he was touched of God, he received a special commission from God.

    Daniel: (Daniel 10:16-18) He reported that, “God touched me and I opened my mouth and spoke; God touched me again, and strengthened me.”

    David: (Psalm 139:5) His testimony to God was, “Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.” (verses 8-10). He continues… “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”

Even Jesus spent the majority of His ministry touching people:

A Leper: (Matthew 8:3) “Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him...and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”

Peter’s Mother-In-Law: (Matthew 8:15) “And He (Jesus) touched her hand and the fever left.”

Two Blind Men: (Matthew 9:29) “He touched their eyes… and their eyes were opened…”

Deaf Man: (Mark 7:32-35) “He (Jesus) put His fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue...and straightway his ears were opened, and his tongue was loosed.”

Young Children: (Mark 10:13-16) “And they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them...and He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them.”

So, you see, it is the touch of God that makes the difference. Some of you that are reading today, need the “touch of God” upon your life. He is your answer! He is your hope! He is your peace! He is your strength! He is your joy! Call upon Him right now and let Him touch you today!
