“Worship Who? (Part II)”

     

     God desires our worship. He does so not because He has an ego problem, but because He loves us. He knows that when our worship is properly focused on Him and to Him, it will benefit us. When we worship God, we are strengthened. We are refreshed and renewed. Therefore, God desires our worship. Let’s continue answering the question: “Who do we worship?”

#1—He is “Elohim, The All-Powerful Creator”

#2—He is “Jehovah, The Self-Existent One”: “Jehovah” is the name used most often in the Bible. It appears 6,823 times, just in the Old Testament. While the name “Elohim” usually refers to God’s nature of His creation, the name of “Jehovah” is used in regards to God’s relationship with His people. God spoke to Moses in Exodus 3:14 and said, “I Am that I Am: and He said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.” God revealed Himself as “Jehovah, The Self-Existent One.” The good part is that God has not changed—He is still “Jehovah, The Self- Existent One.” He needs no help in being God. He can exist on His own. But, as we worship Him, He reveals Himself to us in the midst of our problems, our cares, our storms, and our circumstances.

Where are you today? Are the storms of life blowing against you? Does it seem that there is no hope and no help? Wait! There is hope! The Bible says that “… The word was God …” (John 1:1). It says that “… The Word became flesh and dwelt among us …” (John 1:14). Who is this? It is Jesus Christ! He is your answer, and He is here! Do you know Him personally? If not, lift your voice right now and call out His name. Ask Him to help you, to save you, to forgive you, to cleanse you, to come into your heart and fill the void, to be your Lord! Call out to Him right now, and watch what happens! He will reveal Himself as “Jehovah Who Saves!”

Do you need peace? Do you need joy? Do you need comfort? Whatever you need, He can provide! Lift your voice to Him and worship Him and watch as He reveals Himself to you!
